A coalition of 18 Native organizations issued a consensus brief of 34 federal policy actions for 2026, updating the economic-development agenda first delivered to the transition team in 2024.
The Native Governance Center and 17 partner Native organizations jointly released “Tribal Economic Development: Indian Country’s Policy Priorities for the Federal Government,” a consensus brief laying out 34 policy actions the Administration and its agencies can take in 2026 to strengthen federal support for tribal economies. The brief doubles as a progress report on the first year of the Administration’s second term and updates the transition-team brief the same coalition delivered in late 2024.
Why it matters for EDCs: the 34 priorities are a ready-made advocacy agenda — position letters and consultation comments that align with a consensus document carry the weight of 18 national Native organizations.
