The signature asset
The Congressional Scorecard will publish an annual voting record for every member of Congress on tribal economic legislation — contracting authority, taxation parity, energy development, healthcare funding, and appropriations affecting Indian Country. No other organization publishes this record.
Methodology (in editorial production)
Before the inaugural release, the Institute will publish the full scoring methodology alongside the scores: which recorded votes qualify, how committee actions and co-sponsorships are weighted, how absences and abstentions are treated, and the review window during which offices may contest a scored vote.
Scoring criteria are under legal review. No scores are published until that review concludes and the methodology is public.
Release plan
Inaugural scorecard: targeted for the close of the current Congress. Annual thereafter. Members receive scorecard alerts through their alert preferences.
